The Ossining Downtown Entertainment Committee, consisting of residents and business owners, spent the last year getting ready for the Oct. 4 event while also working on other events.
Chalk It Up brought artists of all levels from all over into Ossining, including giving Ossining students an opportunity to create art on the streets.
"During my second year as an Ossining resident, and local business owner, I was not only honored to be asked to participate in the Chalk It Up Festival on Sunday, I was also delighted to meet some of the most fun and interesting people around town," Milly Morabito, owner of A Faerie Good Soap, said.
The artists could participate in the contest or kids could draw in the free drawing area. Three winners were chosen. The winner received $25 cash and the runners up received gift certificates to Mike Risko Music and Bob's Army Navy.
The winning artwork will remain on the sidewalk until it rains.
